Ford Motor Company will be debuting the 2015 Ford Focus and 2015 Ford Focus Electric at its New York Auto Show press conference on April 16.
The Focus range will be updated slightly with a new engine option and additional tech features. One of the most notable is the inclusion of a back-up camera standard on all models. It will appear either on a 4.2 or 8-inch screen that also features an advanced SYNC AppLink system. The system will allow users to link to more than 60 apps available through either the Apple App Store or Android Market.
Consumers can also choose from a new SE Sports Package that includes new body treatments, paddle shifters for automatic transmission, a sports suspension and 17-inch black gloss aluminum wheels.
The new Focus will also include other extras like electronic driver-assist features like keeping the car in a lane and blind-spot monitors. Driving in the 2015 Focus will also be a quieter experience due to thicker carpets, windows and enhanced engine bay insulation.
Engine options include: the 1.0 liter, 123 horsepower EcoBoost that was previously offered on the Fiesta, a 2.0 liter, 160 horsepower option, and a 107 kilowatt, 143 horsepower electric motor. Six-speed manual transmission will be the only transmission available for the 1.0 liter option, automatic and manual will be available on all other versions. Ford also expects to debut the high-performance ST variant later in the year. The variant will feature a 252 horsepower power rating.
The Driving Life will be taking a look at what to expect from manufacturers during the press preview days at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Stay tuned to here as we bring you everything from the Jacob K. Javits Center.
