During the week leading up to the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, The Driving Life will focus on the big news to expect from automakers, including vehicle launches and model updates.
Much like the cryptic Toyota Furia Concept teaser, Hyundai’s teaser of their new luxury vehicle concept is vague, shadowy, and lacking in detail.
The HCD-14 Concept preview, as Hyundai has dubbed their newest premium vehicle concept, takes the form of a single, shadowy silhouette of a four-door sedan against a black backdrop. The vehicle fades into darkness just below the top half of the wheels, but not before revealing a sloping, sporty roofline and sleek front and backlights. Spectators have compared the image to Kia’s new flagship sedan, the Quoris.
While Hyundai acknowledges this exact design is not due for production, they promise the overall concept is a “glimpse into future Hyundai premium vehicle design,” along with “advanced 3-D gesture-based technology controls.”
