During the week leading up to the 2013 New York International Auto Show, The Driving Life will focus on the big news to expect from automakers, including vehicle launches and model updates.
Toyota has confirmed that it will debut the 2014 Highlander to the world at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The unveiled vehicle will be the next-generation model of Toyota’s mid-size SUV.
No details have been released regarding the Highlander’s powertrain specifications, but expect the SUV to continue to be available in gas and hybrid models, as well as front- and all-wheel drive. The vehicle’s major competitors in its segment are the Nissan Pathfinder and the Ford Explorer.
The hybrid model of the current-generation Highlander won U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hybrid SUV for Families award for three years in a row, including the most recent year.
Toyota’s press conference at the 2013 NYIAS will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 9:10 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, at the Jacob Javits Center.
